Worked example: $100 sold in person vs online (Free plan)
- In person: 2.6% of $100 + $0.15 = $2.75 → you keep $97.25.
- Online: 3.3% of $100 + $0.30 = $3.60 → you keep $96.40.
- Manually keyed: 3.5% of $100 + $0.15 = $3.65 → you keep $96.35.
The same $100 sale costs $0.85–$0.90 more when the card isn't present. If you invoice regularly, Square's ACH option (1%, $1 minimum) is usually the cheapest path.
